Reservation Policies for Bed & Breakfast Cape Cod (B&BCC):
Effective January 1, 2008

There is a two night minimum stay in season from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Several B&B/s and Inns can accommodate one night stay in Low season. There can be a surcharge for a one night reservation when available. Please inquire when making reservation. The "July 4th" holiday has a "3 night" minimum requirement.

RATES: The published rates are per room per night double occupancy and include a generous breakfast. Some rates are reduced late Fall, Winter and early Spring. Inns and some B&B/s have a 9.7% lodging tax. Most B&B/s do not require lodging tax. Host locations are personally inspected each year for cleanliness and comfort.

RESERVATION DEPOSITS & HANDLING FEE: A 25% deposit from the total reservation is required at the time the reservation is made, plus a $ 10 handling fee (* for first time user only). Reservations made with less than ten (10) days prior to arrival or within the cancellation period full payment is required for deposit. Reservations made for more than seven (7) days a 50% deposit is required. For those weekly rentals that require a 7 night stay a 50 % deposit by CHECK is required and the cancellation period is 30 days prior to arrival (some weekly rental have a 90 day cancellation policy). We accept MasterCard, VISA, American Express and Discover for all deposits and balance paid, excepts for most "weekly rentals" transactions. The deposit plus the handling fee (* if it applies) is charged to your account on the date of the reservation. A reservation made within 10 days or less of arrival date requires full payment plus the $10 handling * fee. PERSONAL CHECKS may be used for the deposit if received within 14 days in “off season” or 7 days “in season” of making the reservation. A confirmation of your reservation including host’s name, address, telephone number and balance due, credit card receipt and directions to your B&B or Inn are sent to you immediately upon deposit.

BALANCE DUE: Balance due is payable directly to your host in cash, traveler’s checks or personal check. Your host is not normally equipped to take a credit card. Upon arrival at the host location the balance is due. If you want to pay your balance with a credit card we ask that you notify B&BCC at least ten (10) days prior to your arrival in order for us to process it and mail it to the Guest and to the Host. Balance due policy for weekly rental of studios, cottages or houses varies according to the owners and are written on your reservation. In most cases the balance to Host is due directly to the Host 30 days prior to arrival. In a few cases the balance (by check or credit cards) is due 30 days prior to arrival to B&BCC instead of to the Host. There is a $20 fee to Guests for a check returned because of "insufficient funds".

CHANGES IN RESERVATIONS: Please notify the office at least 10 (30 days for a weekly rental) days prior to your arrival if you wish to make changes to your reservation concerning duration of stay or number of guests in party. Any revision or changes of a reservation with less than 10 days of arrival that reduces the number of days or number of rooms originally reserved falls under B&BCC Cancellation Policy.When revisions or changes of a reservation with less than 10 (30 days for weekly rental) days of arrival are made, full payment or "balance due" is required since the revisions are made within the 10 days cancellation period. Changes in reservations for a weekly rental must be made in according to the specific cancellation policy for this rental.

STANDARD CHECK-IN: Arrival time is after 2 p.m. and check out is before 11 a.m.Weekly rental check out is 10 am. We ask that you let the office or your hosts know of your approximate arrival time so that you can receive proper greetings. You MUST call your Host (B&B or Inn) DIRECTLY at least 48 hours prior to your arrival to CONFIRM or to RE-CONFIRM your ARRIVAL TIME. Without a “confirmed” time of arrival, we cannot guarantee to you that your Host will be there to receive you. If you plan to arrive after 10 PM special arrangements must be made with your Host. Some B&B’s and Inns have specific check-in time restrictions. Please inform us of your approximate arrival time at the time your reservation is made in order for us to advise you of any restrictions. Some B&B weekly rentals have a check-out time of 10 am.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: All homes are non-smoking. Children are welcome in many homes. In some homes due to safety, there may be some age restrictions. Some homes have cribs available for an additional charge. We do have some pet friendly homes as long as the pet is on the flea pill, is never left alone in the home and is a quiet pet (some Hosts might required an extra fee for pet). Please note that all beaches on Cape Cod during summer months do not allow dogs on the beaches during the day.

CANCELLATION POLICY: To cancel a reservation OR part of a reservation (that is to "decrease" the number of nights reserved or to "decrease" the number of rooms reserved), notification is required 10 days prior to scheduled arrival date. Then deposit and handling * fee less a $20. cancellation fee, are refunded. Notification of canceled reservation with less than 10 days prior to arrival date, refund of deposit and handling * fee, less a $20. cancellation fee will be refunded ONLY if accommodations can be rebooked for the canceled day/s or cancelled rooms. Be advised that if you make a reservation for a two (2) night stay and at any time you cancel one (1) night BBCC will consider both nights of your reservation cancelled. For studios, cottages or houses' weekly rentals that require a 7 night stay, or a Saturday to Saturday, for cancellations, notification is required 30 days prior to scheduled arrival date. Then deposit and handling * fee less a $20. cancellation fee, are refunded. With less than 30 days notification, deposit is refunded ONLY if all the cancelled days or weeks can be robooked. Some B&B weekly rental for cottages or apartment have a 90 days cancellation policy with a balance to be paid directly to host 30 days prior to arrival date. Specific cancellation policy will be printed on your reservation. Please note: NO refund for "one" night reservation cancellation, even if cancelled with more than 10 days prior to arrival.

SPECIAL OCCASIONS: B&BCC has a unique reservation service for wedding guests. Please call the office for further information. We can offer GIFT CERTIFICATES (valid for seven years) for all special occasions. We can arrange to deliver flowers, gift baskets, champagne or something of your own choice.

Reservations for the Islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket

This Reservation Service was designed to serve the specific Bed and Breakfast or Inn needs of guests who want to enjoy the scenic splendor of the Islands. Your accommodations needs are matched with available B&B/s homes, historic houses and country inns located on the islands.

There is a 3-night minimum stay requirement for most locations in the month of July and August and on holidays anytime. Deposit required is 100 % of total reservation including tax, if applicable, and a one time $10. service fee. Longer than 3 nights stay required a 50% deposit of the total amount. The 9.7% state occupancy tax may apply at some locations. Some locations offer reduced rates and length of stay from mid-October to Memorial Day.

STANDARD CANCELLATION POLICY: For cancellations, notification required varies from 10, 14, 21 or 30 days, depending on specific Hosts, days prior to scheduled arrival date. Then deposit and handling * fee less a $20. cancellation fee, are refunded. Notification of canceled reservation with less than the "required" days prior to arrival date, refund of deposit and handling * fee, less a $20. cancellation fee will be refunded only if accommodations can be rebooked for the canceled day/s period. DEPOSIT and CANCELLATION POLICY varies with some hosts. Specific cancellation policies will be printed on your confirmation, please make note of it when your received your written confirmation.

Previously stated and more general B&BCC policies, excluding cancellation, required deposit and length of stay, also applies for reservations for the Islands.
